So, to get this project off the ground I needed to get some kit to make life a little easier...
I already had a a fair amount of hand tool and alike and have always tried to fix my own cars through the years, mainly due to the labour rates some garages try to get away with.
Having been an electrician for many years other hand tools and power tools are a plenty.
The shopping list was:
Compressor - Fairly big one.
Assorted air tools - impact wrench - air ratchet - cut off tools etc
Big tool box to put it al in.
Parts washer
Blasting cabinet
Mig Welder
Plasma Cutter
and assorted bit and bobs.
Some of the list was sourced from Machine Mart - Ebay and some classic car shows.

Great little sandblaster, cheap and cheerfull, need a little modification with regards to lighting, the one that come with it is rubbish so I have installed a spare led kitchen cabinet downlight whihc makes it a bit better. also add a port to connect a hoover to remove some of the dust, without it it becomes a bit of a dust storm.
Cut 50 Plasma Cutter
Now i always thought I would never be able to afford a plasma cutter until I came across this on eBay… from Hong Kong… or as i like to affectionately call it, Honka Konka…!
I did quite a lot of research on this unit and it has rave reviews.. all independent from people like myself that count believe it would be any good for price…. £145
Great bit of kit…. and I’ve cut up to about 155m think steel with it…
Plenty of spare cutting heads online…

200 ltr compressor. Another bargain at £80 second hand off fleabay. I've also bought lots of air tool toys,
Impact wrench - invaluable for rusty nuts
Cut off tool - for cutting things off
Air ratchet - anther must to save the elbow grease.
Nibbler - good for sheet metal curvy cuts.
I also installed rigid airline around the shop so no more trailing hoses everywhere.

I recommend Virosol - non solvent degreaser cleaner, its citrus based so smells nice too…
